Early Success
Following Ray's appearance on the Johnny Walker Comedy Search he would go on to appear in many different productions for television. He had a long standing role on Comedy Central, as well as appearing in the stand-up comedian category on Star Search. His biggest break was his appearance on The David Letterman Show which led to his well-known television comedy "Everybody Loves Raymond".
Television Dynasty
Ray Romano is best known for his role as Ray Barone a sports writer of Italian decent who is married with kids and whose parents who live across the street from them. When Everybody Loves Raymond premiered in 1996 it was an instant hit. With its high appeal to Americans, the story was close to home as many of the characters were molded after his own family. At one point he had even given his on show children the same names as his own but decided it would be too confusing. Additionally, one of Ray's brother is an officer on the New York Police department just like his on screen brother. The shown highlighted Ray's unique comedy centered on both his family and his own self-depreciating humor. The show ran for nine years earning him six Emmy nominations and a win in 2002. He appeared in 95 Miles to Go, a documentary tracing his journey across the southern US. Men of a Certain Age premiered in 2008 on TNT marking his return to television. Romano appeared in The Office and The Middle before taking on a long term role in Parenthood. Which was a role that introduced Romano as more than a comedian allowing him to display a more dramatic side to his acting.

Ray is not only an actor and comedian but he has been a contestant on several game shows.
