Weezer is an alternative rock band that originally includes Rivers Cuomo, Patrick Wilson, Matt Sharp, and Jason Cropper.  The band formed in 1992 in Los Angeles, CA, at a time when rock was recovering from a decade spent under the haze of aerosol and spandex.  Weezer became one of the first bands to transcend college rock anonymity and instead found their unlikely faces attached to a buzzing new movement simply dubbed "alternative."

The band is best known for their successful singles "Buddy Holly", "Undone - The Sweater Song", "Island in the Sun", "Beverly Hills", and "Pork and Beans".  They are planning to release a new studio album sometime in 2011.  To date, Weezer has sold over nine million records in the US.
