Ja Rule's real name is Jeffrey Atkins and he was born on February 29, 1976. He was born in Queens, New York. He debuted his first single in 1999 with the single "Holla Holla". He has made chart topping hits which were included in the U.S. Billboard Top 20 from 1999 to 2005. At the beginning of his career, he has already received massive success with hit songs such as "Between Me and You" featuring Christina Milian, "Ain't It Funny" featuring Jennifer Lopez" and "I'm Real (Murder Remix)". Ja Rule received the most success with his collaboration with Ashanti. The songs "Always On Time" and "Mesmerize" both became Grammy nominated #1 hits. In 2000, Murder Inc. changed their name into The Inc. Records and Ja Rule continued his contract with them. Irv Gotti remained the owner and CEO of the record label. Because of his massive hit songs which were highly acclaimed worldwide, Ja Rule has garnered a total of four Grammy nominations in his career. He also earned a total of six Top 10 albums with two albums being included in the US Billboard 200.

JA RULE: CAREER
When Ja Rule signed his first contract as a rap artist, he lost all publishing rights to his album. As a result, it was never released to the public. He had to wait for four years before making a deal with another record label. Finally in 1998, Ja Rule signed with Def Jam Records. He made a very successful radio debut on Jay Z's single "Can I Get A..." as a featured artist. The song was heavily promoted which helped him gain popularity for the first time in his career. Audiences were delighted with his raspy voice and talent in rapping. In 1999, Ja Rule released his first album called Venni Vetti Vecci under Murder Inc. Records. The album received the third spot at The Billboard 200. It sold approximately 185,000 copies during its first week. Since his first album, he released a new album once a year. ASHANTI: HISTORY
Ashanti was born on Long Island, New York in October 13, 1980. She first got introduced to the show business during the 1980's to 1990's when she was hired for music videos and television commercials. It was in 2001 when she first released a recording debut on Big Pun's song called "How We Roll". She was a featured in the song. In 2002, Ashanti released the song "Foolish" which came from her self-titled debut album. "Foolish" received massive success and acclaim worldwide. It dominated the charts and helped Ashanti create a name for herself in the R&B music industry. After she gained popularity, she decided to branch out and get involved in the film and television industry. He made appearances on the TV show Buffy the Vampire Slayer in 2003 as well as Army Wives in 2013. She was also included in the film John Tucker Must Die in 2006. Besides his singing career, Ashanti has also made a name for herself in the acting industry. Even though she played smaller roles in television shows and films, she was promptly given more prominent roles after her popularity increased. She was included in various TV shows such as The Proud Family in 2001, American Dreams in 2002 and Buffy the Vampire Slayer in 2003. On the silver screen, she was included in Coach Carter released in 2005 as well as John Tucker Must Die in 2006. Her latest acting role was on Army Wives in 2013 where she played Latasha and secured a recurring role.

ASHANTI: CAREER
Ashanti first made his name known in the music industry as a featured artist on songs from rappers under Murder Inc. Records. Before her first album was released, she made a collaboration with Ja Rule for the song "Always On Time". She also sang on Fat Joe's single called "What's Luv?" Since those singles she collaborated with became very successful, Ashanti decided to release her first single of her own. She impressed audiences with the hit song "Foolish" which clearly showed her vocal prowess. All three songs, "Always On Time", "What's Luv? and "Foolish" became popular worldwide simultaneously. The reached the Top 10 slot at the Billboard Hot 100 charts. Two of those singles reached the #1 and #2 slots. When Ashanti released her debut album in 2002, it sold more than 500,000 copies in its first week alone. The album created an impressive Sound Scan record as the greatest selling debut album for a female artist. It helped Ashanti earn a well deserved spot on the Guinness Book of World Records. In the entirety of her career, Ashanti has received a total of eight Billboard Music Awards. She has also won one Grammy Award among five nominations. Ashanti has also garnered two American Music Awards and was given the "Entertainer of the Year" award by the Soul Train Aretha Franklin Award.
